Brief History:

Like a few other homes in Harriston, this one also has two sections, the back part being part of a home moved in from the country and joined to the existing residence in 1884.  Assessment records show Alexander Doig, who had the house built, a Clerk as his occupation and later a sawyer in a local sawmill.
